It all started in 1987, when Mr Krishna Tamang hailing from the beautiful city of Darjeeling opened his first Chinese Food Retail Stall ‘Rice Bowl’ at Linking Road, Bandra West. With starting experience of five years running a stall at Linking Road, he has today garnered more than 30 years of extensive practical knowledge and experience of multi-cuisine preparation.

From a humble joint, his dream of food retailing has evolved into 'Chinagate Restaurants Private Limited (CGRPL)'. Mouth-watering offerings and a variety of delicacies from different regions of India and the World have won the hearts of the city's foodies. Owned and operated by CGRPL, its creative genius Mr Krishna Tamang has built nine distinct brand names that have changed the city's culinary scene! Each of these restaurants viz, Chinagate, Red Box Cafe, Caravan Serai, Kazan, Hometown Cafe, Bora Bora pub, Red Ant lounge and Global Fusion offer a one- of-a-kind gastronomic experience. From the Western suburbs of Mumbai namely at Bandra (West) - Waterfield Road, Bandra (West) to Worli's Atria Mall, from Andheri's Western Suburbs to Andheri East - these fine-dining spots bring from carefully garnered and refined recipe to patrons day after day.

CGRPL is promoted by its visionary Mr. Krishna Tamang and Mrs. Anusha Tamang.
