KES International School formerly known as Shree Mumbadevi Mandir (proposed ICSE) is now registered with University of Cambridge International Examinations for CIE IGCSE program. The school is on S.V.Road, situated at a stone’s throw distance from Khar railway station in Mumbai.

The Khar Education Society from which the school derives its name was formed in 1934 it took over ‘Bal-Mandir’ which was started in 1930, added further classes and named it ‘Sharda Mandir’ in 1993 at Khar Mumbai, and brought it under its banner.

“My Pupil’s Own School” was started by late Shri Jahangirji Vakil and Shrimati Kunvarbai J. Vakil, at the instance of our first Prime Minister Shri. Jawaharlal Nehru in 1929, at Pune. It started on the style of ‘Shanti Niketan’. The first pupils were Indira Priyadarshini (Late Smt. Indira Gandhi), Kamal Nayan Bajaj, daughters of Smt. Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit, daughters of Shri. J Vakil Jai and Era. The school shifted to Vile Parle Mumbai, in 1931. Here children of leading citizens of Mumbai joined the school. Its Alumi includes M/s. S.P. Godrej, Atul Motilal Setalvad, philanthropists, Mahendra Nanavati, Chatrabhuj Narsee and many such stalwarts. It amalgamated with ‘Sharda Mandir’. Then it was named as ‘ Shri M M Pupil’s Own School and Sharda Mandir’. It has a very long list of illustrious Alumni who have very sucessfully made great name and fame in field of Social work, Industry, Science, Art, Politics and many other fields.

The school was visited and blessed by many respected leaders of the country, educationists and outstanding personalities. Some of them are Bapuji, Rajaji and Gurudev Tagore. Also Smt.Kamladevi Chattopadhyaya, Sarojini Naidu, Jawaharlal Nehru, Gijubhai Badheka and Tara Ben Modak, Dakshina Murty, Uday Shankar and many other fields.

Since then the Society has expanded to form 4 schools, a degree college and two Junior colleges.

Shree Mumbadevi Vidya Mandir is the English medium SSC School from which the proposed ICSE School has branched out seven years back in 2002 respecting the demand of the parents to avail of ICSE curriculum for their wards.

Presently Classes I to VII have got an Integrated curriculum preparing students for ICSE, CBSE, SSC & IGCSE syllabus.

From std VIII onwards IGCSE program is followed at KES International School. The School has surged ahead with a world class curriculum from the VIII to X std with IGCSE programme conducted by Cambridge International Examinations.The school is an authorized centre of the CIE.

To make this happen the look and ambience of the classes, the facilities available and the expertise to faciliitate learning have been upgraded to the required standard.

The school boasts of the best infrastructure having big, well ventilated classrooms, a well-equipped Library, three fully equipped science laboratories, a computer-lab. with Internet facility There is a play-ground ,Table-tennis room, lawn tennis ground for the students to hone their skills.

The school provides the students with various activities tutored by experts and after-school Hobby classes like aerobics and skating.

The students can access the internet.Teaching is computer aided backed by Smart Class facility.

We have a Pre-Primary School called Kanji Khetsey Pre-Primary School schooling students from Nursery to Sr.KG. whose classroom ambience can be compared with the best of the Pre-Primary Schools in the city having trained teachers and excellent Pupil teacher ratio, spacious air-conditioned class rooms with a dedicated outside play area.
